Filling the Frame

Synopsis & Pilot

“Filling The Frame” is an insightful ride into the unique minds of the image-makers, the true mavericks of the visual world. It’s a journey into the depths of the creative process, where inspiration is the only guide and the road is always uncertain. We’re talking about the moments when the blank canvas, the new roll of film, or the empty media cards are all that stand between the artist and the magic.

Our first episode is a trip into the mind of Jesse Brantman, a photographer who’s not afraid to push the boundaries of his craft to find the hidden beauty in the world. He’s a man who’s not afraid to face his own demons and use his camera as a weapon against self-doubt. Always on the lookout for the next adventure, the next connection, and the next way to bridge the gaps between different cultures, Jesse loves the process as much as the images he captures.

Each protagonist has unique talents and skills that help them flourish in their new place of residency and create a new life for themselves and their families. Along the way, they also positively contribute to their adopted communities and offer a fresh perspective for others.

Through interviews with the protagonists and those around them, the series delves into the challenges and triumphs of rebuilding one’s life in a new place. Nourishment highlights the resilience and strength of the human spirit and serves as a testament to the transformative power of finding a sense of belonging.

Our pilot episode features Lany Phlong, a second-generation Cambodian whose family escaped the Khmer Rouge. After settling in New York, and excelling in corporate America, Lany discovers a love of cooking and its link to her homeland.
